But Mommy, I Don’t Want to Be Perfect

So, I consider myself to be a pretty smart woman….but there are totally times when my 6-year old leaves me speechless – like today:

We were working on his handwriting and I was encouraging him to take his time so that his writing could be neater when he hit me with:

“But Mommy….I think it’s good like this. I don’t want to be perfect. If you’re perfect then you can’t be close to God…..because you’re supposed to need God but if you’re perfect then it’s like you forgot about God.”
