Saving money and paying off debt can seem like impossible tasks when you’re looking at your big goal of getting a house or becoming debt free. Instead of focusing on how you’ll save enough for a down payment or how you’ll ever get rid of your student loan debt, try focusing on the little things.

Check your statement or receipts to see how much you spent during your last grocery run, and then commit to spending $10 LESS during your next trip. Saving $10 might not seem like a lot, but it will give you an immediate sense of accomplishment and when you add it to your savings account or use it to pay off debt, you’re moving closer to your goals without feeling stressed or overwhelmed!

So, what do you think? Can you say “no” to a few items this week to save money on your next trip to the grocery store?
